Hi, I’m Dr. Meg Anderson, a doctor of physical therapy with over a decade of experience. I’m a traditional PT turned online coach for Long COVID and related conditions. My mission is to empower both individuals and healthcare professionals in the fight against Long COVID. I’m here to help healthcare and the world meet chronic illness with compassion, evidence-informed care, and respect.
You shouldn’t have to fight to be believed or convince anyone that your experience is real. Whether you’re navigating this as a patient or practitioner, you deserve care that listens, empowers, and advocates for lasting change…and I’m here to make that happen.
And I just had to do somethingLike many of you, my life changed in 2020. I’d spent my career in hospitals and inpatient rehab helping people rebuild their lives after strokes, heart attacks, spinal cord injuries, and other life-altering conditions. When the pandemic began, I volunteered to rehabilitate our COVID patients. For me it wasn’t just about rehabilitating the body, it was about treating the whole person and rehabbing people’s spirits too. This often looked like singing holiday carols through masks, holding hands with people who hadn’t seen family in months, and helping them learn to walk again through dancing. As you can see, I’m not your average PT.
Soon enough, I saw something bigger unfolding. Patients were surviving COVID but not recovering. I recognized the signs of dysautonomia and post-viral illness and realized the system wasn’t equipped to help. I couldn’t just stand by, so in May of 2021, Rising Tides Restorative Training was born.
Amidst a pandemic and building a business, life didn’t stop. We adopted our pandemic puppy, Vito…who now snores his way through most of my virtual meetings. I was already a mom to a 3-year-old when I launched Rising Tides, and in 2022 we welcomed our baby girl, completing our family of four (five with Vito).
These past few years have been some of the most challenging and rewarding of my life. I’ve learned to balance entrepreneurship, advocacy, and motherhood while still finding time to paddleboard, cook, exercise, live life through music, and explore the world. The truth is that life doesn’t pause, even when everything changes. I apply this belief to myself and everyone I work with. You deserve to keep on living even though your body temporarily has another plan.
After earning my Doctor of Physical Therapy from Northeastern University in 2013, I built my career in a Level 1 Trauma Center and acute rehab unit, working with patients who had complex medical needs. That experience became the foundation for how I now help people navigate the complexities of Long COVID.Today, I coach clients virtually full-time, combining physical therapy expertise with breathwork and nervous system regulation.
As a RESET Breathwork Facilitator®, I help people build resilience even when traditional exercise isn’t possible.I’m also deeply committed to teaching. I present at conferences, lecture at universities, and am published in professional journals. In 2024, I was honored to represent physical therapists at the U.S. Healthcare Leadership Summit on Long COVID Rehabilitation.
Looking ahead, my mission remains simple: to help as many people as possible directly through 1:1 coaching, group programs, guided breathwork, and indirectly through education for healthcare professionals. The healthcare system may not yet be designed for chronic illness recovery, but I’m working to change that…because your life matters, and you deserve better.
These podcasts, publications, and presentations are part of how Rising Tides is changing the way we talk about Long COVID care—one conversation at a time.
